The MMX Performance F8X / G8X M2 / M3 / M4 Rear Differential Billet Front Cradle / Height Adjustable Mount Set (MMR55-1604) replaces the factory front differential mounting component on the BMW F87 M2, F80 M3, F82 / F83 M4, G87 M2, G80 / G81 M3, and G82 / G83 M4. The same MMR55-1604 cradle fits both the F8X and G8X platforms. It is precision machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and installs into the existing mounting points as a direct replacement, with no permanent modification required.

Installed in the OEM-height configuration, the cradle creates a more controlled connection between the differential and the chassis, reducing unwanted drivetrain movement under normal and increased torque loads. It is designed for a minimal increase in noise, vibration, and harshness, and is suited to both street and track use.

The cradle can also form part of a +10mm raised differential configuration for lowered F8X and G8X vehicles. Lowering the car alters the drivetrain geometry between the differential and the axle shafts. Raising the differential by 10mm corrects that geometry, reducing the heat build-up and premature wear it causes on OEM or aftermarket axle shafts.

Although the cradle is the same on both platforms, the +10mm raise is achieved differently and the supporting components are not shared between F8X and G8X. On G8X, the raise is set at the rear bushing: the MMX Rear Differential Raised Poly Bush (MMR55-1605) is used in place of the OEM-position MMR55-1603 bushing. On F8X, the raise is set at the MMX F8X Dual Differential Mount (MMR55-1001), which has the OEM and Lifted positions built into the mount and runs with MMR55-1603 rear differential bushings. The MMR55-1605 raised bushing and the MMR55-1606 G8X Dual Differential Mount are G8X components and are not used on F8X.

Notes

• MMR55-1605 and MMR55-1606 are G8X components and are not used on F8X.
• On F8X, the 3-Point configuration retains the OEM differential height. The +10mm raised configuration requires the MMR55-1001 F8X Dual Differential Mount.

The cradle can also be combined with other MMX rear differential upgrades. On G8X, these include the MMX G8X High-Capacity Baffled Differential Sump (MMR55-1600) and the MMX G8X Rear Differential Output Shaft Heat Shield Set. On F8X, MMX offers the F8X High Capacity Differential Sump (MMR55-1000).
