ACM | Brooklyn Grey G80 Introduction
It's hard to remember a more controversial introduction than the G8X has received. While press photos took people by surprise, including ourselves, we held our reservations until we saw it in person, keeping the faith that BMW's M division would deliver.
We were open to colors for both the exterior and interior, our only stipulations were that it have four doors and three pedals. So when the chance to get a Brooklyn Grey over black, manual G80 popped up, we jumped on it.
BG has a beautiful metallic flake that doesn't translate well in photos. In person, it really highlights and changes the tones depending on the lighting conditions. For the interior, as epic as the carbon buckets are, we have some ideas floating around in our heads and we would've felt bad removing them from the car, so nothing lost with the base ones (which are remarkably comfortable).
After about 150 very impressive miles, the first order of business, is to rip some components out of it for R&D.
Thanks for checking in and stay tuned for more!
We took the car over to a local cars and coffee this past weekend, where it received a lot of positive feedback by people of all automotive backgrounds, who were seeing it for the first time.
A side by side comparison with our E90 M3.
